NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson was one of eight defensive players named to the Walter Camp Player of the Year Watch List, the organization announced. A total of 46 players are on the list.
A two-time All-American, Henderson redshirted in 2024 after playing in one game.
In 2022, he led the country with 186 tackles and earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors and second-team All-America honors.
Henderson finished with 170 tackles in 2023, led the country with 14.2 tackles per game, and finished third in the country with 1.6 tackles for loss per game. He earned first-team All-America honors and first-team All-Sun Belt honors.
Henderson is one of two Sun Belt players on the list along with Southern Miss quarterback Braylon Braxton and is the only Group of Six defensive player on the list.
Henderson and the Monarchs open fall camp on Wednesday and open the season on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Indiana.
