NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion field hockey continues their season opener weekend at home against William & Mary Sunday, Aug 31 at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
The game will begin at 1 p.m. with live stats and broadcast available for fans.
The Monarchs and the Tribe met last year September 8th in Williamsburg where ODU defeated the Tribe 4-1 in regulation.
ABOUT ODU:
Old Dominion fell to VCU in its home opener 3-2 in overtime on Friday. Goalkeeper Suus Broers recorded two saves in goal for the Monarchs. Sanci Molkenboer recorded two points, including the tying goal to send the game into overtime as the clock expired.
Old Dominion was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll after falling to Temple in the BIG EAST conference tournament semifinal last year. Goalkeeper Suus Broers was named BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the year while Langendoen was named BIG EAST Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Both were also named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
ABOUT W&M:
William & Mary opened its 2025 season against American University on Friday, falling 10-0 to the Eagles.
Junior Josie Mae Gruendel and senior Emme Schwartz earned Preseason All-CAA honors ahead of the 2025 season. Gruendel was one of 12 players named to the preseason All-CAA team, while Schwartz was among five players be earn honorable mention distinction
