Henderson Named to Lombardi and Bednarik Award Watch Lists

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson has been named to the Lombardi Award and Bednarik Award Watch Lists, the organizations announced on Monday.

NORFOLK, Va.  Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson has been named to the Lombardi Award and Bednarik Award Watch Lists, the organizations announced on Monday.

A two-time All-American, Henderson redshirted in 2024 after playing in one game.

In 2022, he led the country with 186 tackles and earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors and second-team All-America honors.

Henderson finished with 170 tackles in 2023, led the country with 14.2 tackles per game, and finished third in the country with 1.6 tackles for loss per game. He earned first-team All-America honors and first-team All-Sun Belt honors.

The watch lists are the fourth and fifth for Henderson this fall, as he was on the Walter Camp Award, Butkus Award and Nagurski Trophy Watch Lists, and was named preseason first team All-Sun Belt.

A native of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Henderson owns ODU records for single season tackles and tackles, the career record with 439, and the single game record with 22 against Georgia Southern in 2022.

Henderson and the Monarchs open fall camp on Wednesday and open the season on Saturday, Aug. 30 at Indiana.
