NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion women’s rowing travels down to Sarasota, Florida for the Monarchs’ first appearance in the BIG 12 Championship since 2018 in Nathan Benderson Park starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 18.
The event can be streamed on ESPN+ and live result updates can be found here. The winner of the BIG 12 Championship will secure an automatic bid for the NCAA Championship.
ODU will compete against Kansas, Kansas State, Tulsa, Central Florida, and West Virginia. This will be the second time this year that Old Dominion races at Nathan Benderson Park after previously competing in the Sarasota 2K on March 28.
The racing schedule includes six events with a 3V4+ exhibition starting the day off at 9 a.m. The exhibition will not count for points with all other races counting towards points. All events will be a single race, following the conclusion of all the races there will be an awards ceremony at 11 a.m.
“The team has had some really good training since our race against Temple, we mixed up some line-ups and created a competitive environment to try and find some more speed.” Said ODU Head Coach Brian Conley. “I am excited about this championship as the boats have been moving well, I think that we are ready for our best performance, now it is about executing.”
