ODU Sailing Finishes Fifth in the Hanbury Trophy, Eighth in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University sailing took action in two different team races this past weekend.

ODU competed in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race in Norfolk. The Monarchs placed eighth out of 10 teams, finishing with a record of 5-7. The five wins came against Boston College, Fordham, the University of Miami, and the Monarchs beat George Washington twice. 

The skippers were Blake Goodwin, Pierce Brindley and Diogo Silva, with crew Allison Volk, Ian Kissel, Cadence Goodnight, Emil Body-Goldberg, Isabelle Kanach, and Gianna Dewey.

At the Hanbury Trophy at CNU, the Monarchs finished fifth out of nine teams with a total score of 184. Team A finished eighth with a score of 79 and Team B with a score of 105.

Jonah Willoughby and Morgan Auth were the skippers, and Molly Hanson and Charlotte McCoy were the respective crews.
