NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion Men’s golf has its first tournament of the spring this week as the Monarchs travel to Dorado Beach, Puerto Rico to play in the Dorado Beach Collegiate.

UNC Greensboro is hosting the event at TPC Dorado Beach this Sunday through Tuesday, Feb. 23-25 with 18 holes each day. The first two rounds will have a 7:30 a.m. EST shotgun start, and the final round will be a 7 a.m. shotgun start. The Sugarcane Course at TPC Dorado Beach has a par of 72 and is 7,119 total yards.

There will be a total of 16 teams playing in the Collegiate. The rest of the field includes App State, Army, Ball State, Bryant, Connecticut, George Mason, Illinois State, James Madison, Loyola (Md.), Southern Miss, Temple, Valparaiso, Winthrop, and Wofford.

For ODU, the Monarch lineup will consist of Philip Minnehan, Cullen Campbell, Jacob Gunther, Kaijun Ma and Jakub Sutor with James Page competing as an individual.

This marks the fourth year in a row that the Monarchs are playing at Dorado Beach. Last year’s tournament was called after two rounds after the weather would no cooperate on the final day. Gunther was the team’s top finisher, tying for 53rd with a one-under par 143 through 36 holes.
