TUCSON, Ariz. – Old Dominion Men’s Basketball dropped a 102-44 decision on Saturday afternoon at the McHale Memorial Center in Tucson, Arizona.
Arizona (2-0) began the game on an 11-0 run in the first four minutes that was broken on a dunk by R.J. Blakney to get the Monarchs on the board at 11-2.
The Wildcats pushed their lead to 14-2 before Old Dominion (0-2) went on a 7-0 run started by Dani Pounds and back to back buckets by Devin Ceaser to close the gap to 14-9 with 12 minutes remaining in the first half.
Arizona followed the 7-0 spurt with a 10-2 run of its own to take a 24-14 lead before a dunk by Caelum Swanton-Rodger stopped the run to make the score 24-13.
The Wildcats pushed the lead to 19 with another 10-2 run late in the half and a 13-0 run to push the lead to 47-20. Devin Ceaser hit a three to stop the run as he led ODU in the first half with 10 points. Arizona led at the break, 50-21.
Arizona continued to push its lead in the second half, outscoring the Monarchs 52-23 in the second half.
Ceaser led the Monarchs with 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting and made a pair of three-pointers. Jaden Johnson added in seven points.
Old Dominion guard Robert Davis Jr. did not play due to an injury.
ODU is back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 12 when they travel to Radford for a 7 p.m. contest.
