NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion men's golf will play in the Ninth Annual Elon Phoenix Invitational this Monday and Tuesday at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina.
Both days will begin with 8:30 a.m. starts. Monday will include 36 holes of continuous play, and the field will return to play the final 18 holes on Tuesday. The course at Alamance features a par of 71 and is 6,871 total yards. Fans will be able to follow along with live stats available through Golf Genius.
There will be 18 teams competing in the Invitational. Joining the host Phoenix and the Monarchs will be lineups from App State, Dartmouth, East Carolina, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Long Island, Longwood, Middle Tennessee State, North Carolina A&T, Presbyterian, Queens University of Charlotte, Radford, Temple, UConn and UNC Greensboro.
ODU’s lineup will consist of Philip Minnehan, Jakub Sutor, Jacob Gunther, Cullen Campbell and James Page.
Last year at the Elon Phoenix Invitational, the Monarchs finished in a tie for ninth after recording an even 852 for the tournament. Gunther led the team with a three-under par 210 after hitting rounds of 70 and 69 on the first day. Kazuki Yamauki shot a one-over 214 to tie for 34th, and Kaijun Ma went two-over with a 215 to tie for 42nd.
