NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion rowing team ventures to the Kerr Cup regatta on Saturday in Philadelphia on the Schuylkill River.
"I'm looking forward to racing in Philly this weekend. Weather looks more favorable than last week and we have an opportunity to see fellow conference team Temple one more time before May 12th.
We need to bring our A game and I think the crews have been showing good consistency all week," said ODU Head Coach Brian Conley.
ODU will be competing in the Women's Collegiate Varsity 8+, the Varsity 2V8 and the Varsity 4 races on Saturday.
The Varsity8+ will be in a heat with Loyola (MD), Jefferson, Drexel and Iona at 9:30 a.m. That boat will consist of: Lucy Brennan, Sydnee Blackburn, Sofia Bespalova, Nicole Knight, Jo Copeland, Maddie Enns, Helen Schuette, Haven Habhab and coxswain Savannah Hartlove.
The Varsity 2V8 will be in a heat with Fairfield, Temple and Loyola (MD) at 10 a.m. That boat will consist of: Olivia Kruse, Catherine Wilson, Lily Baumann, Bekah Kimman, Jinjoo Noh, Callie Crook, Nikki Dibacco, Emma Spinelli with a coxswain Elley Gortz.
The Varsity 4+ will be in a heat with Lafayette, Drexel and Monmouth at 10:30 a.m. That boat will consist of: Alexis Durand, Kendall Freeman, Kaila Smith, Afton Stahl and coxswain of Sheyla Daniels.
A top three finish in those heats will advance ODU to the finals.
