NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's tennis returns to the home courts of the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center as they will host Texas State on Saturday and Louisiana on Sunday with both matches starting at 10 a.m.
"Texas State and Louisiana were amongst our toughest conference matches last season. They're gritty and compete hard. I expect a pair of tough matches this weekend," said ODU Head Coach Dominic Manilla.
This will be the third ever meeting between the teams as ODU took a 4-0 victory on April 28, 2023, in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Peachtree City, Georgia. Allison Isaacs, Shahar Biran, Sofia Johnson and Alexandra Viktorovitch took straight set wins in singles to lock up the match.
The teams met in the regular season last year in San Marcos, Texas as the Monarchs won 4-3.
ODU won the initial meeting between the schools 4-0 on March 10, 2023, at Louisiana. After a three-hour rain delay, the Monarchs took the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. In singles, Johnson and Biran won in straight sets and Viktorovitch took a three-set win at No. 4 to lock up the win.
