DORADO, Puerto Rico – The weather would not cooperate on the final day of the Dorado Beach Collegiate as Old Dominion finished 16th through two rounds played at TPC Dorado Beach.

The Monarchs started off the Collegiate with an opening round of five-over par 293 on Sunday, then bettered that effort with a combined 290 in Monday's second round to end up with a 36-hole total of 583 (+7). Tournament host UNC Greensboro won the team total with a two-day total of 539 (-37), Ball State came in second place with a team score of 548 (-28), and Kent State took third with a 551 (-25). Kent State's Chris Vandette was the individual medalist with a 14-under 130 and UNCG's Randall Hudson turned in a 13-under 131 for runner-up honors.

Jacob Gunther was the top finisher for the Monarchs, tying for 53rd with a one-under 143. The junior from Stockholm, Sweden began the tournament with an even 72 and followed with a one-under 71 for his second trip around the Sugarcane Course. Kaijun Ma shot an opening round of 71 and added a one-over 73 to end up tied for 62nd with an even 144. Kazuki Yamauchi, playing as an individual, was next with a 145 to tie for 67th. Jakob Henriksson posted a three-over 147 to tie for 81st, Jakob Chicoyne hit a five-over 149 to tie for 90th, and Cullen Campbell rounded out ODU's lineup and tied for 100th at 152.

"The guys worked really hard to get ready, and I thought we would play much better than we did," said ODU Head Coach Murray Rudisill. "Everyone was disappointed in our ability to score low when the course was giving up lots of eagles and birdies. It seems as if we score the same on difficult or easy courses. We will work hard to get ready for Mid Pines."

Up next for the Monarchs is the Donald Ross Collegiate Classic, which will be hosted by George Mason at Mid Pines Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina on March 11-12.
