NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University Football linebacker Jason Henderson raked in several honors on Wednesday morning, including being named a CBS Sports second-team All-American, The Athletic second-team All-American, The Touchdown Club of Richmond Linebacker of the Year and College Football News first-team All-American.

Henderson leads the country with 170 tackles and 14.2 tackles per game and is third in the country with 19.5 tackles for loss. He is trying to become the first FBS player to lead the country in tackles in consecutive years since Luke Kuechly of Boston College did it in 2010-11.

A native of Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania, Henderson has 11 double-digit tackle games on the year, including tying his own ODU record of 22 against Coastal Carolina. The 22 tackles are the second most in a game this season by an FBS player.

Henderson owns the ODU career record with 436 tackles, the second most by an active FBS player only trailing Iowa's Nick Jackson, who has 445 career tackles.

It is the second-straight year Henderson was named the TD Club of Richmond Linebacker of the Year and second-consecutive year he has earned All-America honors. He is the first ODU player since punter Jonathan Plisco to earn back-to-back All-America honors.

Old Dominion takes on Western Kentucky in the Famous Toastery Bowl on Monday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN. For more information, click here for the Bowl Central page.
