"The Head of the Occoquan is our last fall season race. This is our last chance to see where we fit with other Division 1 teams. It's also a challenging course with several turns for the coxswains to manage," said head coach Brian Conley.

"I'm most excited that this will be the first time we are mixing the veteran rowers with the novice rowers. The novices have done a really good job of picking up the sport and before we head indoors for winter training, it will be great to see how well they mix in. We have set our line-ups purely on our erg test results, so it will give those that have put in the most work, the opportunity to be in a boat with people that are better with technique to help them improve, said Conley.

"It will also help those with the better technical skills to feel how to push harder too. It will also give everyone an idea of where they stand on the team and amongst the competition, so they can use that as motivation over the winter break to train hard and be ready for the spring."
