WEST POINT, Miss. – Old Dominion women's golf wrapped up play at The Ally on Wednesday, placing 11th in Mississippi State's tournament held at Old Waverly Golf Club.
The Monarchs finished with a combined 917 (+53) for the three days. Florida took home the team trophy with a one-under par 863 and the host Bulldogs came in second with a 10-over 874, one stroke ahead of third-place Indiana. Florida's Maisie Filler was the individual champion after shooting an eight-under 208. Mississippi State's Surapa Janthamunee was the runner-up at five-under 211, and Sam Houston's Jennifer Herbst ended up third at four-under 212.
For ODU, Lucia Gonzalez turned in a 10-over 226 to tie for 32nd. The sophomore from Monterrey, Mexico recorded a pair of two-over 72s for her first two days, then fired a final round of 78 on Wednesday. Carley Rudolf was next for the Monarchs, placing 41st with a 54-hole total of 229, and Puneet Bajwa was one stroke behind her and tied for 42nd with a 230. Also in the lineup for ODU were Klara Wildhaber, whose 237 tied her for 60th, and Faith Garcia, who tied for 65th with a total of 245.
The Monarchs will open their spring season at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Florida on Feb. 4-6.
