ODU Rowing Set To Compete In Navy Day Regatta

NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion rowing team is back in action on Sunday, Oct. 15 when the Monarchs compete in the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Monarchs will be competing in six different events over the day.
 
The first event will start at 9:40 a.m. as Lucy Brennan and Sydnee Blackburn will compete in the open 2 regatta. 
 
The second event will begin at 10:04 and ODU will have two teams competing in the collegiate 4+. The division a team is made up of Savannah Hartlove as the coxswain and her crew is Sydney Metzger, Bekah Kimman, Lillian Copeland and Jinjoo Noh. The division b team features Isabella Peycelon as the coxswain and her crew is Sophia Bespalova, Maddie Enns, Jay Weber and Haven Habhab
 
The collegiate frosh / novice 8+ will begin at 10:32 and ODU will have one team competing of Sheyla Daniels as the coxswain and the rest of the crew is Helen Schuette, Nicole Knight, Sophie Sherman, Kendall Freeman, Grace Sandhofer-Adams, Cierra Velzis, Kaila Smith and Callie Crook.
 
The next event beginning at 11:04 is the collegiate JV 8+ and the Monarchs will have one team racing. Ellie Gortz will be the coxswain and her crew is Lillian Copeland, Olivia Kruse, Jinjoo Noh, Bekah Kimman, Gillian Battersby, Sydney Metzger, Emma Spinelli and Afton Stahl.
 
The collegiate 8+ begins at 1:08 p.m. and ODU will have one team competing in it. Libby Guindon is the coxswain and her crew is Lucy Brennan, Sydnee Blackburn, Sophia Bespalova, Kinley Zink, Jay Weber, Maddie Enns, Lily Baumann and Haven Habhab.
 
The last event ODU is competing is the collegiate frosh/ novice 4+ and the Monarchs will have two boats racing. The first team features Savannah Hartlove as the coxswain and her crew is Helen Schuette, Nicole Knight, Sophie Sherman and Olivia Kruse. The division b team has Isis Morgan as the coxswain and her crew is Alexis Durand, Jillian Douglas, Grace Sandhofer-Adams and Catherine Wilson
