VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Old Dominion women's golf team opened play in the Evie Odom Invitational on Friday with a 14-over-par 294 at the Princess Anne Country Club.
UCF leads the event with a seven-under-par 273, while Kent State is second at three-over-par 283 and Chattanooga is third at five-over-par 285 in the 15-team event. Old Dominion is tied with Penn State at 294.
Puneet Bajwa leads Old Dominion after round one with an even-par 70 to sit in a tie for 13th individually. Lucia Gonzalez is next at one-over-par 71 and tied for 21st individually. Carley Rudolf is tied for 50th individually at 75 (+5), with Klara Wildhaber (T72nd/78) and Leiu Yuenyong (T77th/79) rounding out the team scoring.
Individually, Faith Garcia and Sarah Mardani are in a tie for 40th with four-over-par 74 and Minami Kudo is in a tie for 65th at seven-over-par 77.
Round two of the three-day event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
