NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion women's basketball assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Roland Jones Jr. has been named one of the 50 Most Impactful High Major Assistants in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball, as chosen by Silver Waves Media.
As stated on the Silver Waves Media website, the list features some of the most outstanding and impactful assistants in Division I and was selected by a panel of industry professionals. This marks the second year in a row someone from head coach DeLisha Milton-Jones' staff has landed on the list. Last year saw assistant coach Shammond Williams earn the distinction.
"This is a well-deserved moment of recognition for Roland and the ODU women's basketball program," said Milton-Jones. "His passion and diligence as the recruiting coordinator is displayed through the success we have had as a program in such a short period of time during my tenure. Winning 46 games in two years is no small feat and those wins are a derivative of the talent he has recruited to ODU. Roland's impact will be felt for many years and I'm glad to have him and his vast skillset as a coach and recruiter for our program here at Old Dominion University."
In addition to Jones Jr., some of the other NCAA Division I assistant coaches featured on the list include Janese Constantine and Roman Tubner (Alabama); Tia Jackson (Duke); Tamisha Augustin (Florida); Tahnee Balerio and Isoken Uzamere (Georgia); Abby Stamp (Iowa); Amber Smith (Kentucky); Jonneshia Pineda (Louisville); Bob Starkey and Gary Redus II (LSU); Karen Blair and Lindsey Spann (Maryland); Fitzroy Anthony (Miami); Adrian Walters and Joanne Aluka-White (North Carolina); Wesley Brook (Ohio State); Lisa Boyer, Jolette Law and Winston Gaddy (South Carolina); Joy McCorvey (Tennessee); Shannon Perry-LeBeauf (UCLA); Chris Dailey and Jamelle Elliott (UConn); and Lindsey Hicks (Virginia Tech).
