"I am excited for the team to open the 2023 season at home against St. Joe's University.  This is the first official home 2000 meter race for our team in a since the spring of 2019, when the team raced George Mason" said head coach Brian Conley. "I think for the team to show what their sport is about and having some head to head competition with St. Joe's is a great way to get our team started this spring.  The team has done a lot of work over the winter in how they row, their fitness, and developing their culture."  "We know St. Joe's will be a strong competitor.  Our goal is always very simple.  Make our boat go as fast as it can, whether that is in practice or when we line up against another team.  We will then see where the results put us this early in the season.  We have been focused on the process of achieving our goals at the conference championships and the first test of where we are is this weekend. It will be exciting, hard and the fun always comes when you go fast."
