KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tara Enneking began her final conference championship with a bang as she finished in second place in the women's 200 IM with a time of 2:00.28 to lead Old Dominion University Swimming on the first night of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Championships.
The meet began with Grey Bremer placing in sixth in the 500 men's freestyle with a time of 4:31.86. Carson Doll won the B-Final to place ninth with a time of 4:32.58.
In the women's 500 freestyle, Cara O'Toole registered a 10th place spot in 4:55.23.
The 200 IM followed as Bryce Mortimer finished seventh with a time of 1:50.71, while Hugo Eriksson took 15th in 1:53.16.
Enneking took second in the women's 200 IM, just .73 behind first place Chloe Harris from Liberty. Martina Ciriesi notched an 11th place finish with a time of 2:03.48.
Noah Wilkins and Ryan Lincicum competed in the A-Final as Wilkins came in fifth with a time of 20.18 and Lincicum took eighth with a time of 20.65.
The final event of the night was the 200 medley relay as the men's squad of Gustaf Hansson, Mortimer, Oskar Iwarsson and Lincicum came in fourth with a time of 1:30.03.
The women's 200 medley relay team of Samantha Allred, Gabby Tosi, Martina Ciriesi and Mary Dunworth finished eighth with a time of 1:43.78.
After day one, the ODU women's team is in seventh with 105 points, just 15 points behind sixth place Campbell.
The Monarch men currently sit in fourth place, 16 points behind third place Gardner-Webb.
