Men's Golf to Start Spring Season at Advance Golf Partners Collegiate

PALM CITY, Fla. – The Old Dominion men's golf team starts its spring season this Sunday through Tuesday, Feb. 12-14 at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate.
 
UNC Greensboro will be hosting the tournament at Hammock Creek Golf Club, a par 72 course in Palm City, Florida with a total of 7,169 yards.
 
There will be a total of 18 teams competing in the Collegiate. Also making the trip will be Bradley, Butler, Colgate, Connecticut, DePaul, Drexel, Elon, Florida A&M, George Mason, Iona College, Oakland, Queens University of Charlotte, Samford, South Dakota, Valparaiso and Villanova.
 
Sunday's opening round is scheduled for a 9 a.m. start. Monday's second round will also feature a 9 a.m. start and the field will begin at 8:30 a.m. for Tuesday's final round. Fans can follow along with live stats, which will be available through GolfStat.
 
This is the second consecutive spring season that the Monarchs will have participated in the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate. ODU finished last year's tournament with a 25-over par 889 to come in eighth out of 21 teams. Jakob Henriksson finished in a tie for 20th place at four-over 220, and Kazuki Yamauchi and Rasmus Konradsson both tied for 27th with scores of six-over 222.
 
ODU competed in four tournaments this past fall. The Monarchs started off by tying for sixth place at the VCU Shootout on Sept. 12-13 and placed 13th at the River Run Collegiate on Sep. 19-20. The team then went on to compete at the Georgia State Invitational on Oct. 3-4, tying for eighth place. ODU concluded its fall slate by hosting the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Oct. 23-25 at Kilmarlic Golf Course in Powells Point, North Carolina. The team finished in ninth place as Kaijun Ma led ODU with a two-over par 215 to tie for 14th.
