NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's tennis team returns to the home courts of the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center this weekend for a pair of matches against Power Five schools.

Friday night, the Monarchs (3-1) will take on Virginia Tech at 6 p.m. in a rematch of last year's thrilling 4-3 ODU win over the Hokies. This match will be streamed on ESPN+. On Sunday at 11 a.m., the Monarchs will entertain the Wisconsin Badgers in the first-ever matchup between the schools.

Old Dominion (3-1) returns home after a pair of 6-1 matches in Philadelphia last weekend falling to Penn, while defeating Drexel. Codie van Schalkwyk was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week after going 3-1 in the first four matches of the year. Freshman Cosme Rolland De Ravel earned a ranked win against Penn with a victory against the 102nd ranked player Harsh Parikh.

The Hokies enter 2-0 after a pair of 6-1 wins over Queens University of Charlotte and James Madison. Ryan Fishback and Frank Thompson went 2-0 in singles over the opening matches, while the Hokies sport a top 15 ranked doubles pairing of Thompson and Jordan Chrysostom who are ranked 13th.

Wisconsin also opened its season 2-0 following wins over DePaul and Princeton last weekend. Mihalio Popovic clinched the 4-3 win over Princeton with a three-set win in singles, while winning 6-0, 6-0 in the opener over DePaul.

Old Dominion will continue its homestand on February 10 when they'll face the Auburn Tigers at 11 a.m. and cross-town foe Norfolk State at 3 p.m.

OLD DOMINION HEAD COACH DOMINIK MUELLER ON HOME WEEKEND
"Anytime you host a Power 5 it's special. Hosting two on the same weekend shows the profile and reputation our program earned over the years."

"We have played Virginia Tech the last two years and both matches ended in a very close 4:3 with each team winning one, so I expect another really close match. It can't get any better than a Friday evening match under the lights. We need any help we can get, so we hope our fans are following the call to come out and enjoy some amazing tennis."

"Wisconsin is a team that'll be in the top half of the Big 10 annually. They have a lot of experience and a very strong doubles point. They are also six points deep in singles and very well coached. We got to bring our A game."
