• ODU is coming off a 37-3 loss to James Madison, while App State lost 28-21 at Marshall.
• Linebacker Jason Henderson recorded 18 tackles to push his nation leading total to 166. He has 49 more tackles than the second leading tackler in the country. Saturday against JMU, Henderson broke the Sun Belt Conference single-season record. He is 28 tackles from breaking the FBS single-season record set by Texas Tech's Lawrence Flugence in 2002. Flugence set the record in 14 games. He can also break the single-season record for tackles per game. Boston College's Luke Kuechly holds the record with 15.9 in 2011. Henderson is currently at 16.6 per game.

Punter Ethan Duane has continued to be a weapon for ODU so far this season. He has a 42.7 yard average and 24 of his punts have been downed inside the 20, which leads the Sun Belt. He ranks third in the conference with 11 boots of 50 yards or more. For the fourth time this season, Duane was named a Ray's 8 nominee, and for the first time, was named the Ray Guy National Punter of the Week.
A native of Melbourne, Australia, Duane has allowed just 68 punt return yards this season. ODU is 31st in the country in punt return yards allowed at 4.6 yards allowed per return.

Henderson Tackling Records
Linebacker Jason Henderson has already toppled two records so far this season, he now looks ahead to two more on a bigger scale.
Henderson notched 18 more tackles this past Saturday against James Madison, his 10th double-digit tackle game of the season.
The NCAA FBS records for tackles and tackles per game are within reach. The single-season record for tackles in a season is 193, set by Texas Tech's Lawrence Flugence in 2002. The record for tackles per game is held by Boston College's Luke Kuechly, who averaged 15.9 tackles per game in 2011.
Henderson is 27 tackles shy of tying Flugence, and currently is averaging 16.6 tackles per game.
He has tied or led ODU in tackles all 10 games this season and has reached double figures in all 10 games.

Eatin' Some Candy
Offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri has accepted an invitation to play in the Reese's Senior Bowl. Saldiveri becomes the third Monarch and first offensive lineman to participate in the Senior Bowl.
The Senior Bowl is played on Feb. 4, 2023 at South Alabama's Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. The game is broadcast on the NFL Network.
