GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Old Dominion University lacrosse suffered a 22-6 setback to Florida on Saturday afternoon in Gainesville.
 
Florida (9-4, 2-0 AAC) scored the first two goals of the afternoon but Sydney Taylor put Old Dominion (5-9, 0-2 AAC) on the board to cut the deficit to 2-1. Florida followed with an 11-0 run to go on top 13-1 before Lilly Siskind scored to break the streak.
 
The Gators added a goal before halftime and scored five more in the third quarter before Caroline Shaefer got on the board for ODU to make the score 19-3 Florida.
 
Shaefer's goal started a string of three-straight for the Monarchs as Haley O'Connor scored early in the fourth quarter followed by Maddie Mullenbach. Maggie Corbo scored again for the Gators, but Mullenbach added her second of the game for ODU's sixth and final goal of the afternoon.
 
Mullenbach led ODU with a pair of goals and an assist, while O'Connor had a goal and an assist. Jenna Peccia got the loss in goal for ODU and made three saves.
 
ODU returns to the L.R. Hill Sports Complex next to host Cincinnati at noon.
