Norfolk, Va. - Old Dominion Lacrosse is preparing for a weekend matchup against Vanderbilt in the team's final home appearance of the season. The match will be Senior Day for seven seniors playing their final home.
 
Last week against Cincinnati, Molly May recorded a career high five points on two goals and three assists. Lilly Siskind scored five goals and was 3-for-3 on free position shots. Lauren Carey was credited with a career-high seven caused turnovers and two ground balls.
 
Caroline Shaefer had six draw controls against the Bearcats, catapulting her from fifth into third place in Old Dominion's single season record book with 61 this season. 
 
Jenna Peccia has started in all 15 games for the Monarchs and recorded seven saves last time out. She ranks sixth in the nation with 153 saves and has logged 779:12 in net.

Senior Player Profiles
 
Amber Stieve – M – Huntington, N.Y./Huntington High School
Stieve played in all nine games for the Monarchs in the shortened 2020 campaign. Her junior season she played in 17 games, recording 16 ground balls, causing 16 turnovers and 20 draw controls. She has continued playing a key role for Old Dominion, having played 13 games and scoring a goal in the win against Howard. In the classroom, Stieve was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in her junior and senior year and honored on the American Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team. In her career she has played 39 games, has four goals, two assists, 34 ground balls, 21 draw controls, and 22 caused turnovers. She will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in busineess management. 
 
Brianna Blatter – GK – Port Jefferson, N.Y./Comsewague High School
Blatter made her first start during the sophomore season on opening day. She finished that year with five appearances and three starts in goal. Earned 22 saves in a game vs. No. 20 Richmond. Recorded 50 saves her sophomore and 55 her junior season. Brianna also excelled in academics, being a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll as well as being honored on the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team. In her career she has played 24 games, securing 113 saves and 22 ground balls. She will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in art history and a minor in spanish. 
 
Claire Porter – F – Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur High School
 In Porter's freshman year she was named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team, having made 14 appearances for the Monarchs. Her sophomore season she played in every game, notably scoring two goals against Coastal Carolina and Longwood. During Porter's junior year she appeared in all nine games the Monarchs played that season, ranking fourth in the team in points. In 2021 she set personal highs with 15 goals, 11 assists, tallying 26 total points, and leading the team in assists. This season through 15 games, Porter has registered 15 assists and five goals. She also excelled in the classroom, featuring membership in both the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. Porter has also been honored on the American Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team during her time at Old Dominion. In her career she has 72 games played, has 42 goals, 43 assists, 33 ground balls, and 15 caused turnovers. She will be graduating with an undergrad in criminal justice and a degree this summer in psychology.
 
Malissa Beall – D – Annapolis/Annapolis High School 
Malissa made her first appearance for Old Dominion her sophomore year during its win over Radford. The following season she increased her role and saw action in 11 games. She found plenty of success in the classroom as well, being a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll her junior and senior year as well as being honored on the American Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team. In her career she has played 15 games, recovered eight ground balls, and caused four turnovers. She will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in sport management. 
 
Paige Angelus – D – Horsham, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy
Angelus arrived at Old Dominion in 2019 and made her first two appearances off the bench. Her sophomore year she saw more time on the field and played in the ODU win over Radford. As a junior, she appeared in 13 games and earned a place on the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll as well making the American Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team. Her senior season she has seen action in six games, causing one turnover and recovering a ground ball. In her career she has played in 26 games, recovered seven ground balls, and caused five turnovers. She will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
 
Riley Leischner – D – Littleton, Colo/Chatfield High School
Leischner has played in six career games for the Monarchs despite battling through injury, she has recovered one ground ball and caused one turnover. She was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll three times and made the American Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team. She will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in health service administration and a minor in management.
 
Tess Meurling – M – Apex, N.C./Apex High School
Meurling arrived in 2019 and made an instant impact on the team appearing in 15 games her freshman year. Her sophomore year she played in all nine games for the Monarchs. As a junior, she scored the overtime game-winner in the team's win against East Carolina. This season she has seven goals and two assists for nine points. In her career she has played in 56 games, registering 13 goals, four assists, nine ground balls, and 56 draw controls. She will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in strategic communications.
 
About Vanderbilt 
The Commodores head into this matchup following a 16-8 loss against No. 10 Florida. Gabby Fornia leads the team with 57 points on 19 goals and 38 assists. Bri Gross and Karli Bucci rank second and third on the team with 33 and 32 respectively. 
 
Paige Gunning has started every game for Vanderbilt, logging 719:58 and registering 105 saves.
