Stone Smartt, Isaac Weaver, Jordan Young

IRVING, Texas – Stone Smartt, Jordan Young and Isaac Weaver were named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, the National Football Foundation announced on Wednesday.
 
Members of the Hampshire Honor Society must meet the following criteria:
Completed their final year of playing eligibility in Fall 2021; Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale); Met all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements; and have been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2021 season.
 
Smartt dealt with an injury in 2021 but played in eight games and made five starts at wide receiver. He finished fourth on the team with 17 catches for 167 yards. Smartt caught a career-best four passes in the Myrtle Beach Bowl against Tulsa and caught a season-long 39-yard reception at UTEP. He graduated with a degree in finance with a 3.54 GPA.
 
Young recorded a career-high to lead ODU and finished seventh in Conference USA with 104 tackles. He also led the Monarchs with 7.5 tackles for loss and notched two sacks. Young led the team in tackles in four games and registered three double-digit tackle games, including 10 stops and three tackles for loss in his final game as a Monarch in the Myrtle Beach Bowl against Tulsa. In that game, Young broke Craig Wilkins' record for tackles, finishing his career with 350. He earned Conference USA Honorable Mention this season. Young graduated with a 3.41 GPA in sport management and also earned his master's degree in sport management.
 
Weaver started all 13 games on the offensive line in 2021, starting 10 games at center, two at left tackle and one at left guard. His 48 career starts are tied with Young, Craig Wilkins and Oshane Ximines as the most in ODU history. Weaver helped Blake Watson become the second player in ODU history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season and Weaver earned All-Conference USA Honorable Mention for the third time in his career. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology with a 3.39 GPA and his master's degree in exercise science.
