NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's golf team heads nearly 2,500 miles west for Las Vegas and The Show at Spanish Trail, co-hosted by UNLV and Furman at Spanish Trail Country Club. The three-round event runs Feb. 14-15 with live scoring available through Golfstat.
The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. ET on Monday, and teams will play two rounds on the first day. Action concludes with another 11:30 a.m. ET shotgun start on Tuesday.
The field consists of 16 teams with 12 ranked inside the Golfstat top-100, including top-50 programs Washington (42nd), Furman (43rd) and UNLV (44th). ODU's Jana Melichova is the highest-ranked individual in the field, checking in at 32nd nationally.
The Monarchs played three rounds at the UCF Challenge last week, finishing 14th. Melichova placed in the top-10 for a sixth consecutive time, ending up in a tie for ninth at 7-under 209 and garnering Conference USA Co-Golfer of the Week honors in the process. The senior from Pikovice, Czech Republic has finished at or under par in each of her last five rounds and has done so in 11 of her 15 rounds this season.
ODU will take a month off following The Show before returning to action at the Briar's Creek Invitational, March 14-15 in Johns Island, South Carolina.
