NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team starts a road heavy December by visiting George Mason on Saturday night for a 7pm tip that can be seen on ESPN+.
ODU enters the game after a tough 63-62 loss to East Carolina on Tuesday night. C.J. Keyser scored 19 points to lead the Monarchs who rallied and took a lead with 50 seconds left but fell to a hot shooting East Carolina squad.
The Monarchs lead the all-time series with George Mason 36-22 with the Patriots winning the last meeting at the Cayman Island Classic on November 25, 2020 60-53. ODU won the previous two meetings, including the last one in Fairfax scoring a 75-69 win on Dec. 3, 2014.
Keyser leads the Monarchs in scoring averaging 12.9 points per game, while Kalu Ezikpe is averaging 11.4 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. Jaylin Hunter is just behind at 9.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
George Mason enters the game 4-4 after losing their last four games. They finished the Sanford Pentagon Crossover Classic falling 80-76 to South Dakota State on November 24.
The Patriots have four starters averaging in double figures with Josh Oduro leading at 16.9 points per game and he is second in rebounding at 6.0 per contest. D'Shawn Schwartz is averaging 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while DeVon Cooper is averaging 13.9 points per game and is second in assists with 25. Davonte Gaines rounds out the double figure scorers at 11.8 points and a team high 8.4 rebounds per game.
Old Dominion will head just up I-64 to visit William & Mary on Tuesday night for a 7pm tip in its next contest.

Men's basketball season tickets cost $215 and include tickets for the Monarchs' exhibition on Nov. 6 and all 14 of ODU's regular season home games. Women's basketball season tickets cost $115 for adults and $250 for courtside seating and include tickets to all 15 of the Monarchs' home games. Special pricing is available for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, and members of the military. Call the ODU Ticket Office at 757-683-4444 to receive special pricing. New this season, fans can select season tickets for men's games in section 108 for the promotional price of $110. For women's games, fans can select season tickets from sections 107, 108, and 109 for the price of $75.
Season tickets represent a savings of more than $50 for men's games and $45 for women's games, over single-game tickets. Single-game ticket prices start at $18 for men's games and $11 for women's games, with special pricing for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth (12 and younger) and members of the military. ODU students can register for student tickets for free to any ODU men's and women's home game.
