ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Old Dominion University women's sailing squad placed 12th at the women's national championships in Annapolis on Thursday.
The second day of racing got off to a slow start with a lack of wind, delaying racing for more than three hours. Due to the lack of wind, just six races were completed in each division on Thursday.
The division A boat of Bridget Groble and Abigail Tutt placed 11th in the division. The duo recorded one top-five finish today, four top-five places and seven top-10 finishes over the two-day championship.
Hannah Pokorny and Emily Harrison took 13th in the division B boat for the Monarchs. They featured three top-five finishes and seven-top-10 races over the two-day championship.
The College of Charleston won the event with Tulane coming in second and Boston College taking third.
