NORFOLK, Va. – The 11-game season-opening home stand for Old Dominion women's lacrosse continues on Saturday, when George Washington comes to the L.R. Hill Sports Complex for a 1 p.m. game.

ABOUT ODU
The Monarchs won their second-straight contest on Wednesday, a 17-4 result over Delaware State. Eight different ODU players scored in the win against the Hornets, including first-time goal scorer Olivia Tanneberger. Lilly Siskind set the game high with four goals. Carolina Shaefer notched her second hat trick in as many games, and Lindsay Baer had her first three-goal outing for the Monarchs.

On Monday, the American Athletic Conference named Haley O'Connor its Freshman of the Week after the Ipswich, Massachusetts native logged five points across a pair of games. Maria Rekus earned a spot on the honor roll after causing six turnovers and picking up five ground balls.

ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials fell 22-2 to Navy on Feb. 27 in their first game of the season. Ioanna Mantzouratos and Sophia Watkinson both scored for GW.

George Washington was picked to finish ninth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll after going 0-7 in the shortened 2020 season.

THE SERIES
The two sides are meeting for the second time. ODU won the first meeting in 2016, 10-7. An 8-2 scoring run spanning both halves proved to be the difference for the Monarchs.

WHAT'S NEXT
ODU concludes nonconference action with games against Liberty on March 10 and No. 17 Richmond on March 14. The Monarchs then begin their inaugural campaign in the American with consecutive home weekend series with East Carolina (March 19 and March 21) and Temple (March 26 and March 28).
