GORDONSVILLE, Va. – The No. 48 Old Dominion women's golf team finished ahead of in-state rivalRichmond on Friday afternoon in a tri-match at Spring Creek. ODU compiled a 304 (+16) on the 6,209-yard track, hosted by No. 10 Virginia.

"We were excited to be back competing again in our home state. Spring Creek is a championship caliber golf course and the cold, windy conditions made it really tough," said ODU head coach Mallory Hetzel. "We played well the majority of the day and with just a few shots giving us a little trouble. We are thankful for this opportunity as it will help us be better prepared for UTSA next week."

Four Monarchs finished in the top-10, with Justine Lauer finishing in the top-5 for ODU, carding a three-over 75. Sophomore Pilar Muguruza, freshman Elsie Verhoeven and junior Jana Melichoa each carded four-over 76. Leah Onosato and Madison Corley round out ODU scoring, each putting together 78s.

Next Up
ODU will head to San Antonio to compete in the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational hosted by UTSA from March 9-10.
