NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team entertains Delaware State on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. game at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
ABOUT ODU
The Monarchs notched their first win of the season with a 14-13 result over Longwood on Saturday. Danielle Dundas scored the decisive goal with 3:57 remaining in the second half as ODU survived a late 5-1 run by the Lancers.
Haley O'Connor scored her first collegiate goals against Longwood, finishing with three tallies and an assist. On Monday, the American Athletic Conference tabbed the Ipswich, Massachusetts native its Freshman of the Week.
Maria Rekus earned a spot on the conference's honor roll after causing six turnovers and picking up five ground balls across two games last week.
ABOUT DELAWARE STATE
The Hornets dropped a 20-3 game at Delaware last Wednesday. Tamrin Swann, Gwenna Gentle and Emmy McGill all scored for DSU.
Delaware State posted a 1-5 record in the shortened 2020 season.
THE SERIES
Old Dominion holds a 2-0 mark all-time against the Hornets. The two sides last met in 2018, a 21-1 Monarchs' victory.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Monarchs wrap up nonconference action with three more games at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex. ODU hosts George Washington on Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by Liberty on March 10 and No. 17 Richmond on March 14.
COVID POLICIES
The L.R. Hill Sports Complex will welcome 600 fans on a first come, first served basis. The main gate opens 60 minutes prior to the start of the match. Spectator parking is available in Lot 43. Tailgating is not permitted.
Fans in attendance must comply with the following guidelines:
- Mask required for entry. No gaiters.
- Maintain social distancing while in the facility.
- No large gatherings inside the facility (10+).
- Please sit in the stands in the designated locations.
- Wash hands frequently.

Due to popular demand, the Old Dominion University Athletics Department has made Monarch Fan Cutouts available for field hockey and women's lacrosse.
The "Monarch Cutouts", presented by Chartway, are available for $59. Monarch Cutouts purchased for ODU field hockey will be placed in a highly visible area of the L.R. Hill Sports Complex and will stay up throughout the spring, for the entirety of the ODU field hockey and women's lacrosse seasons. Photos of the fan cutouts will be posted on social media throughout the season.
