IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference named Haley O'Connor its Freshman of the Week and selected Maria Rekus to the honor roll, the conference announced on Monday.
O'Connor scored three goals and contributed a pair of assists across two games for Old Dominion. The native of Ipswich, Massachusetts handed out an assist in the Monarchs' game with William & Mary before notching a hat trick with an assist in ODU's 14-13 win over Longwood. O'Connor needed just three shots to score her three goals against the Lancers.
Rekus started in defense in both games last week and caused six turnovers while picking up five ground balls. She shared the game high with four ground balls against the Tribe and also caused a pair of turnovers. Against Longwood, the Eldersburg, Maryland native set the game high with four caused turnovers.
