NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team welcomes its third-straight in-state opponent to the L.R. Hill Sports Complex on Saturday when Longwood visits for a noon tilt.
ABOUT ODU
The Monarchs fell 19-11 to William & Mary on Wednesday behind an eight-goal outing from the Tribe's Belle Martire.
Lilly Siskind, Claire Porter and Maddie Mullenbach combined for eight goals and four assists against W&M. Siskind set a new career best with four goals and added an assist for a team-high five points. Mullenbach put two past the W&M goalkeeper, her first collegiate goals, and set a personal best with two assists. Porter had two goals and an assist.
ABOUT LONGWOOD
The Lancers dropped an 18-3 decision at No. 15 Virginia Tech on Wednesday. Haley Moomau scored a pair of goals, and Taylor Blenckstone provided two assists.
Moomau ranks second on the team with four goals, just one behind Emma Johnson. Blenckstone is Longwood's best distributor with four assists.
THE SERIES
The two teams are meeting for the 11th time on Saturday. ODU leads the series 6-4 and has won three of the last four. Last year, the Lancers edged the Monarchs by a single goal, 15-14, in Farmville. Four unanswered goals gave the Monarchs a 14-13 lead with 5:58 left to play, but Longwood scored twice in the span of one minute to win the game.
WHAT'S NEXT
Old Dominion's long homestand continues on Wednesday, March 3 with a 1 p.m. showdown with Delaware State. In total, the Monarchs are currently scheduled to play 11 straight at home to open the season.
COVID POLICIES
The L.R. Hill Sports Complex will welcome 250 fans on a first come, first served basis. The main gate opens 60 minutes prior to the start of the match. Spectator parking is available in Lot 43. Tailgating is not permitted.
Fans in attendance must comply with the following guidelines:
- Mask required for entry. No gaiters.
- Maintain social distancing while in the facility.
- No large gatherings inside the facility (10+).
- Please sit in the stands in the designated locations.
- Wash hands frequently.

Due to popular demand, the Old Dominion University Athletics Department has made Monarch Fan Cutouts available for field hockey and women's lacrosse.
The "Monarch Cutouts", presented by Chartway, are available for $59. Monarch Cutouts purchased for ODU field hockey will be placed in a highly visible area of the L.R. Hill Sports Complex and will stay up throughout the spring, for the entirety of the ODU field hockey and women's lacrosse seasons. Photos of the fan cutouts will be posted on social media throughout the season.
