NORFOLK, Va. – Megan Watts of the Old Dominion women's soccer team was named the Free Lance-Star's All-Decade Women's Soccer Player of the Year. The Free Lance-Star is a daily newspaper distributed throughout Fredericksburg, Va.
At Mountain View High School, Watts set school records by scoring 45 goals as a senior and 115 goals in her high school career (which ranks in the top 20 in the Virginia High School League's record book). The Stafford, Va.-native was a three-time All-Area Player of the Year, as well as was named First Team All-State the final three years of her decorated high school career. Her 19 assists in a single season set a school and Stafford record. Watts was a State Cup champion in 2015 and runner-up in 2017.
Last season as a freshman for ODU, Watts played in every match while being third on the team in goals with four; her eight points were fourth most on the squad.
