Women's Golf Heads Into Final Round of Maryb S. Kauth Invitational Tied for Third

Jana Melichova is in first place indivudally

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Led by sophomore Jana Melichova, the Old Dominion women's golf team is in a tie for third after two rounds at the Maryb S. Kauth Invitational hosted by UTSA. 

On the 6,159-yard track at San Antonio Country Club, the Monarchs put together rounds of 305 and 300 on its opening day with two Monarchs in Melichova and Leah Onosato in the top-5. Melichova fired back-to-back rounds of 70, where she currently leads the field in par 3 scoring and par 4 scoring. Onosato opened with a 75 before shooting a one-under 71 to climb the leaderboard. Onosato compiled 30 pars, the most in the field. Freshman Pilar Muguruza put together an 83 before coming back with a 79. Noemie Sudron and Madison Corley round out scoring for the Monarch team, shooting a 163 and 164, respectively. 

Playing individually, Anika Bolcikova is in a tie for 10th after an opening round 73 followed by a four-over 76. 

ODU will be paired with Middle Tennessee and Houston Baptist in the final round of the tournament. Live scoring can be found on Golfstat.
