NORFOLK, Va. – Two Tennis Monarchs were nationally ranked in the ITA Preseason Rankings, which were released on Tuesday afternoon. Francois Musitelli will commence the fall season ranked No. 120 in singles, while Musitelli and Jannik Giesse are the No. 47 ranked doubles tandem.
“I am very happy for Francois and Jannik to be nationally recognized for their hard work,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “Francois has established himself as one of the best doubles players in the country and has gotten better in all aspects of his game since he got here. Jannik is now an upper-classmen and ready to take the next step. It is something to build on but still nothing to be satisfied with.”
Musitelli was named to the All-Conference USA First Team for singles and doubles just a season ago. Giesse was an All-Conference USA Second Team honoree for singles in 2018-19.
Old Dominion will serve up the 2019 fall season at the UVA Blue and Orange Classic in Charlottesville, Va. on Sept. 27-29.
