BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Behind a huge fourth inning, Old Dominion evened the series at UAB with a 14-7 win on Saturday afternoon at Young Memorial Field, forcing a Sunday rubber match.

Trailing 2-0 through three innings, Vinnie Pasquantino ignited the ODU (17-13, 2-9) offense with a two-run home run to start the fourth inning. The Monarchs went on to score 10 runs in that fourth inning on nine hits and two UAB (14-18, 2-9) errors.

All nine starters for ODU recorded a hit and scored a run. Freshman catcher Michael Marrale went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs and his classmate Ryan Teschko went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Matt Burch also added two hits and two knocked in.

John Wilson also recorded his first collegiate hit, a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning.

As a team, ODU was 6-for-12 with runners in scoring position and struck out only twice.

On the mound, Ryne Moore improved to 5-2 on the season. In 7.2 innings, Moore allowed four earned runs on eight hits, while striking out three and walking one.

The series finale is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on 1310 The Power and CUSA.tv.

Tommy Gertner (1-0, 2.89 ERA) is expected to start against UAB's Tanner Graham (3-2, 5.76 ERA).
