NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion men’s tennis team (9-7) defeated VCU (12-9) by a 4-1 score on Sunday afternoon at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
“Rivalry matches are always special and I thought our guys owned it today,” explained ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “They wanted to win one point at a time and did that. Our doubles play is coming together nicely and I’m looking forward to play three Top 75 teams next weekend for our C-USA East pod play.”
ODU is now 8-0 when playing at home this season.
The Monarchs will return to action on Friday, April 5, when they take on FAU in Charlotte, as part of the 2019 Conference USA East Round Up. On Saturday, April 6, ODU will square-off against Middle Tennessee. Finally, on Sunday, April 7, Old Dominion will take on Charlotte.
