WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team climbed three spots on the final day to finish in a tie for ninth at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course in Williamsburg this week.
In Tuesday's final round, ODU (+59) carded the seventh-best round of any team in the 21-team field with a 21-over 305. The Monarchs finished in a tie with Ohio (+59), while Campbell (+11) won the event.
Individually, Gustav Fransson (+13) was the top-placing Monarch, finishing in a tie for 33rd. Chris Ayers (+15) also finished in the top 50, placing 42nd.
Carter Morgan (+18) and Calvin Greschner (+18) both tied for 52nd, as Greschner turned in the best Tuesday round for an ODU player with a 4-over 75. Chandler Wilkins (+22; t-67th) rounded out the ODU lineup.
Up next, ODU heads to the Wyoming Cowboy Classic April 8-9 in Phoenix.
