NORFOLK, Va. -- For the 24th consecutive season, Old Dominion baseball and Rutgers will meet at the Bud Metheny Complex for an early-season, non-conference series.
First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on Friday, 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. All three games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Old Dominion has won four straight entering the weekend, including back-to-back shutouts against Norfolk State and VMI during the midweek.
As a staff, ODU hurlers have a 3.14 ERA with three shutouts. The Monarchs are holding opponents to a .235 average and have struck out 67, while walking only 31.
Friday starter Nick Pantos (2-0, 0.87 ERA) has headlined ODU's weekend rotation so far this season. Morgan Maguire (0-0, 3.86 ERA) and Ryne Moore (1-0, 4.09 ERA) will start on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Offensively, ODU is hitting .324 as a club with 23 extra-base hits. Kyle Battle (.483, 1 HR, 8 RBI) and Matt Burch (.483, 6 RBI, 8-8 SB) have anchored the top of the lineup for the Monarchs.
The Rutgers series continues a 12-game homestand to open the season for ODU. Overall, 18 of ODU's first 21 games are at The Bud.

ABOUT RUTGERS (2-4)
The Scarlet Knights are coming off of a 2-1 performance at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans, recording wins over Butler and Chicago State. Rutgers opened the season by getting swept at Miami (FL). Series History: Rutgers leads, 36-27. However, ODU was won 2-of-3 in four of the last five seasons.
