NORFOLK, Va. - Oliver Tobisch, Luca Maldoner, Justin Herrera, Harrison Hunter, Bradley Mittleman and Samuel Perelman of the Old Dominion men’s tennis team competed in the Spider Invite over the weekend on the campus of the University of Richmond. All six of ODU’s players each won at least one match.
“We had a good weekend,” said ODU assistant coach Sergey Avdeyev. “We played a lot of matches and that is exactly why we went there. Results could of been better, but we are in the fall season and our main goal is to improve. I saw some very pleasing pieces from our freshmen, as they both have a lot of potential. Tobisch played a very close three set match with top recruit from UVA, which was good to see. Overall I am pleased with our performance over the weekend.”
Players from Virginia, VCU, William & Mary, College of Charleston, Charlotte, Georgetown, East Carolina, Navy, Campbell, Longwood, Radford, Howard also competed in the Spider Invite.
Next up for Old Dominion will be the ITA Atlantic Regionals in Blacksburg, Va. on Oct. 18-22.
