VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Hosting a tournament for the first time since 2007, the Old Dominion women's golf team finished third at the Princess Anne Invitational at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach this weekend.
The Monarchs (+23) fired a 2-under 282 in Tuesday's final round, which was tied for the best round of any team during the 54-hole event, but ultimately finished six strokes behind team champion UCF (+17) and two strokes behind second-place Campbell (+21).
ODU finished ahead of two ranked teams in No. 58 Sacramento State and No. 68 Maryland.
Individually, three Monarchs finished in the top 20, led by Charlotte De Corte (+4), who tied for 10th. Jana Melichova (+5) tied for 12th and Sana Tufail (+8) tied for 19th. Noemie Sudron (+11) also had a strong showing for the Monarchs, tying for 28th.
UCF's Elizabeth Moon (-7) won the individual title.
The tournament concludes the fall season for ODU. The Monarchs open the spring Feb. 3-5 at the UCF Challenge.
