CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Old Dominion women’s rowing team placed 15th in the Women’s Club 8+. Out of 33 boats, ODU finished with a 17:47.707 time.
“There is some disappointment that didn’t achieve their time standard,” said head coach Dan Garbutt. “I think there’s more to come for this group. It was overall a positive week for the program demonstrating they’re on the right path and we’ll get back to work on Tuesday.”
The Monarchs finished ahead of EMU, Lehigh, Connecticut, Tennessee, Marist, Amherst, VCU, Penn, and more.
The Head of the Charles is on a three mile course which is alongside the Cambridge Boat Club. There were 11,000 athletes competing at the Head of the Charles this past weekend.
“There is a lot of youth in the lineup and first timers at the Head of the Charles so it can be overwhelming with the amount of athletes there.
