NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (4-6-2, 1-3-0 C-USA) downed Western Kentucky (2-7-2, 0-4-0 C-USA) by a 4-0 score on Sunday afternoon at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Morgan Hall struck first for ODU in the 23rd minute off a pass from Carla Morich, as Hall’s goal gave Old Dominion a 1-0 lead at halftime.
In the 74th minute, Hall scored again to give the Monarchs a 2-0 advantage. The goal was Hall’s team-leading fifth of the season.
Kyra Ricks made it 3-0 for ODU in the 85th minute, as Iris Achterhof and Amanda Nhek were credited with the assist.
Less than three minutes later, Nhek scored a goal of her own to ultimately give Old Dominion a 4-0 victory over the Lady Toppers on Sunday afternoon in Norfolk. Achterhof picked up her second assist of the match on Nhek’s third goal of the season.
ODU outshot WKU 16-10 for the match, while freshman goalkeeper, Jasmine Crawley, picked up her first collegiate win and shutout after making four saves.
Old Dominion will hit the road for its next match on Friday, Oct. 5, when the Monarchs take on Middle Tennessee at 8:00 p.m. EST in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Friday night’s match will air on ESPN3.
