TEXARKANA, Ark. -- The Old Dominion men's golf team sits in seventh place through 18 holes at the Conference USA Championship at Texarkana Country Club in Arkansas.
ODU (+12) sits 12 strokes behind leader UAB (E) and three strokes behind Middle Tennessee (+9) and UTEP (+9), who are both tied for third. Following 54 holes, the top four teams qualify for a final round of match play to determine the conference champion.
Individually, Gustav Fransson (E) led ODU on the opening day and is sixth individually, four strokes behind the leader. Calvin Greschner (+2) is tied for 14th, while Chad Hess (+5), Michael Bakker (+5) and Nick Rencis (+5) are all tied for 37th.
Action resumes with 18 holes tomorrow. ODU tees off at 8 a.m. ET and will be paired with Rice.
