NORFOLK, Va. -- In the final weekend series of the non-conference slate, Old Dominion welcomes Quinnipiac to the Bud Metheny Complex for a three-game set this weekend. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Following Tuesday’s midweek win over Norfolk State, the Monarchs have won consecutive games for the first time this season and enter the series on a two-game winning streak. In the last four games, ODU is averaging over six runs per game.
The Monarchs' starting rotation remains the same with Jim Fluke, Brett Smith and Morgan Maguire. Last weekend against Rutgers, all three starts went at least five innings and did not allow more than three earned runs.
At the plate, Culver Lamb is hitting a team-best .396 to go along with a .604 slugging percentage. Matt Schwarz has a .341 average and nine RBIs, while Morgan leads the team in extra-base hits with seven and home runs with three.
All three games will be streamed on CUSA.tv featuring commentary from Andy Mashaw and Tim Wentz.
This will be the first all-time meeting between Old Dominion and Quinnipiac. In fact, it will be the first meeting for Old Dominion against a school that begins with the letter Q.
