NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion dropped game two of the three-game set to Middle Tennessee, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex. With the victory, the Blue Raiders (16-11, 5-3 C-USA) win the series.
Will Morgan (1-4, HR, 2 RB) hit a two-run home run for Old Dominion (9-16, 2-6 C-USA) and Morgan Maguire (7+ IP, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K) gave the Monarchs seven strong innings on the mound, but Middle Tennessee used a three-run second inning and insurance runs in the eighth and ninth to pull out the series-clinching victory.
The home run for Morgan was his team-leading fourth of the year.
Erik Stock (2-4, R) was the lone Monarch with multiple hits, while Bryce Windham (1-2, 2B, BB) also had a nice day at the plate.
The series finale is set for tomorrow at 12 p.m. ET.
