NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion hosts Middle Tennessee this weekend in a Conference USA series at the Bud Metheny Complex. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday.
Service Appreciation Day is scheduled for Saturday's game. All Military and First Responders will be given free tickets, while service member guest tickets will be at a discounted rate of $3.
Old Dominon (9-14, 2-4 C-USA) has yet to win a weekend series this season, but have won five consecutive Sunday contests.
ODU is hitting .295 as a club, which ranks 31st in the nation and fourth in Conference USA. In the last 10, the Monarchs are hitting .302.
Individually, true freshman Erik Stock (.368, 1 HR, 7 RBI) leads the team in average. Matt Schwarz (.337, 13 RBI, 5 SB) has been productive out of the leadoff spot and Vinnie Pasquantino (.309, 3 HR, 22 RBI) has been the top run producer.
On the mound, Brett Smith (1-2, 5.00 ERA) will make his second straight Friday start and Morgan Maguire (2-1, 2.97 ERA) will get the nod on Saturday. Sunday's starter is TBA.
Middle Tennessee (11-14, 3-3 C-USA) leads the all-time series, 9-6. However, the Monarchs have taken 2-of-3 against the Blue Raiders in each of the last two seasons.
