NORFOLK, Va. --
The No. 25 Old Dominion field hockey team is set to host Michigan State and Richmond this weekend in non-conference action at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.

Old Dominion (1-3) opens the weekend against Michigan State (3-2) on Friday at 5 p.m., before hosting Richmond (0-4) on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The Monarchs are coming off of a pair of losses away from home last week, falling at No. 19 James Madison in overtime and dropping a neutral-site contest to Rutgers. All four of ODU's four opponents so far this season are ranked in the latest NFHCA Top 25.

Alexa Ostoich, who earned Big East Offensive Player of the Week honors in week one, leads the Monarchs in scoring with 10 points on four goals and two assists. Erin Huffman ranks second on the team with three goals, while Preseason All-Big East selection Danielle Grega and Amie Olton have also netted goals for ODU this season.

Defensively, goalkeeper Kealsie Robles has played every minute in goal, making 27 saves. The back line of Olton, Kristen Vick and Rebecca Birch have started every game.

In addition to ODU's pair of games this weekend, Michigan State and No. 10 Virginia will also play a neutral-site game at L.R. Hill on Sunday at 11 a.m.

ABOUT MICHIGAN STATE
The Spartans enter Friday's contest with a 3-2 record and most recently dropped a 1-0 loss to No. 21 American, a team that the ODU defeated, 4-2, earlier this season. MSU is 0-2 against ranked opponents this season, falling to Pacific and American, while two of MSU's wins have come in overtime. The Spartans average 2.20 goals per game and have been led by Kendal Anderson, who has recorded a team-leading three goals.

ABOUT RICHMOND
Richmond enters the weekend winless with an 0-4 record, having allowed two or more goals in four consecutive losses to open the season. Three of the Spiders' losses have come to ranked foes, including a season-opening, overtime 5-4 loss to No. 21 American, a team that the ODU defeated, 4-2, earlier this season. Last weekend, Richmond dropped consecutive matches to No. 24 Maine. Through four games, Florentine Beelaerts Van Blokland is the team's leading scorer with five points.
