NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion women’s soccer team (2-2-0) fell to No. 12 nationally ranked Duke (3-1-0) by a 3-1 score on Sunday at the ODU Soccer Complex. ODU Sophomore Kyra Ricks scored in the 82nd minute off an Iris Achterhof assist.
In the 15th minute, Duke’s Chelsea Burns capitialized on a penalty kick to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 advantage.
Kayla McCoy extended Duke’s lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute off an unassisted goal from the left side. The Blue Devils took the 2-0 advantage with them into the locker room at halftime.
Duke made it 3-0 in the 62nd minute after Imani Dorsey’s third goal of the season.
In the 82nd minute, Iris Achterhof played a ball in to Kyra Ricks, who finished a lob shot over the Duke goalkeeper to ultimately bring the score to 3-1 for the match on Sunday in Norfolk, Va.
Krista Moisio made four saves in goal for the Monarchs.
